Title: Last Night
Universe: Fushigi Yuugi
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It was Noriko’s last night.
Tasuki couldn’t do anything. Couldn’t think, couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe. He felt cold all over, and Nuriko just lay there in the snow, bloody and broken and too still. Tamahome yelled at Miaka while Mitsukake restored Nuriko to his former beauty, but Tasuke was far away, tears turning to ice on his face.
“All that pretty hair gone to waste,” Tasuki teased as Nuriko brushed his fingers through his newly shorn locks before seeing to his horse. “Next you’ll be belching and singing rude songs.”
Nuriko laughed, turning to lean close to the bandit. “Then I’ll start talking like you.”
It wasn’t - couldn’t be - Nuriko lying there. Nuriko was too full of fire and laughter. That body on the ground was too cold.
Nuriko’s skin felt deliciously hot under Tasuki’s hands as they both fumbled with obstructive clothing. Tasuki tasted salty sweat on Nuriko’s neck, and the delicate looking powerhouse moaned appreciatively, fisting his hands in Tasuki’s bright red hair.
It had to be a trick. They’d get back to the city and Tasuki would find Nuriko waiting in the barn of the inn with a bottle of saki, laughing and smiling and ready to mock them for falling for his clever trick.
It had to be.
