“I’m fine,” Will lied as Becca peeked at him from around Ted’s neck, her face streaked with snot and tears. “You didn’t do anything wrong, and Papa’s gonna be a-okay.”
Becca sniffled loudly, and Will fought the urge to dig out a tissue and wipe her face clean.
“See?” Ted said gently. “I told you. Now, are you gonna be a good girl for Auntie Cassie?”
The little girl sniffled again, which Ted took for a ‘yes’. He handed his daughter off to Vision, and then he waited for Will to start talking.
“She was trying to get me to give her a cookie,” Will finally said, his voice shaking a little. “She grabbed my arm and she broke it like a twig.”
“Jesus.” Ted raked his hands through his hair. “She’s five. I didn’t have super-strength until I was almost fifteen.”
“They’re both developing powers so fast,” Will mumbled, running his good hand over the cast on his other arm. “What are we going to do?”
“Roll with it, I guess.”
