Despite their benefactor’s best efforts, food tended to disappear fairly quickly in the New Warriors’ base of operations. Especially ice cream.
Sofia joked that the delicious, frosty treat was under stocked and restocked so randomly to help keep them on their toes and battle ready.
This time, she’d managed to get at the Cherry Garcia first. She doled it out into two bowls and made her way to the garage, where she knew Jono would be trying to fix the old Indian motorcycle that had become his down-time hobby.
Sofia watched him toil for a few minutes as the ice cream began to melt, then cleared her throat. He didn’t look up, so she put the bowl of slowly melting frozen goodness just outside his reach. “For this, I expect to be the first one allowed a ride when you get that thing working.”
Jono’s blue lips twitched into a grin. “Dunno, pet. Jubilee keeps me in chocolate for the privilege.”
