Title: The End
Universe: That Damn Mpreg
Rating: PG-13
Summary: All things must come to an end eventually.
Two immortal mages watched the apprentice for a long, silent moment before leaving the mortal to his studies. One was immortal by way of a family curse, the other due to his position as the Sorcerer Supreme.
“He’s ready,” Robert Altman-Kaplan said. “I could teach him more, but there are some things one must learn through experience. Will you…?”
“I’ll give him hell,” Rowena Mox-Xanathos grinned, twirling an unlit cigarette between her fingers. “Same as I did you. Maybe worse. He’s one of mine, after all.” She toyed with her lighter, a present from a long dead suitor whose name she no longer remembered. “What will you do?”
“I will give him the Tools,” he said, “and I will drink a toast to him. Then I will go to my room, and I will die.”
“Poisoned cup? Very dramatic.”
“I’ve always been one for the grand gesture,” Robert admitted with a small smile.
“I’ll miss you, kid.” Rowena lit her cigarette, puffing away at it thoughtfully.
“But you’ll finally get to publish that book you’ve been sitting on since I became your apprentice,” the mage teased.
“You could live for a bit longer, you know.”
“I could. But I’m three hundred years old. I’ve outlived everyone I ever cared for but you.” He gave his mentor a ghost of a smile. “I’m ready to go.”
“Lucky bastard.”
