Tommy watched the light play along the edge of the blade, then followed the edge back to Megan. “Babe, this is...” He put a hand up, pushing the Soul Dagger out of the way. “Megan, please, listen to me. This whole Queen of the Damned thing isn’t you.”
He kept his eyes locked on Megan’s, looking for some flicker of the girl he knew in those murky depths. He fought down a shiver.
“Megan, you’re a hero-”
“Shut up. Shut up shut up shut up!”
That, despite the fact that there was some seriously spooky shit going down the more upset Megan got, seemed like a good sign to Tommy.
