“Say the word and it’s yours, baby,” Ricky said, looking in the jewelry store window. Jessie squeezed his arm, shaking her dark hair out of her eyes.

“We’re here for food, not to break stuff.”

“Bo-ring!” Ricky said with a disgusted snort.

“Tak seems to be enjoying himself.”

The two teens glanced at the arcade, where their radioactive compatriot was trying his hand at Pac-Man. He was losing, but he was also clearly enjoying himself.

“Loser,” Ricky muttered, earning him an elbow to the ribs.

“He could fry you alive.”

“I’d kick his ass.”

Jessie rolled her eyes, tugging Ricky away from the jewelry store. “Lets just find Fix-It, get the food, and go.”

“I thought he was supposed to be watching Nuke-Boy.”

“One of us,” a slightly squeaky voice announced, “had to hit a cash machine. Without breaking it.” Paul held up a wad of cash. “We’re being on the down low or whatever. Let’s hit the Food Court.”

“Do you even need to eat?” Jessie asked, signaling to Tak to stop wasting his time with the video game and get a move on.

Paul looked the former mutant up and down, leering. It wasn’t a very effective leer, since he looked all of twelve. “I can do all kinds of things, doll face.”

Ricky gave the android a small shove. “Yo, that’s my shorty you’re talking to, short ass.”

“You looking to get schooled by a twelve year old again, Excavator?” Paul sneered.

“Should we do something?” Tak asked softly, looking from Ricky to Paul.

“Yeah,” Jessie replied. “Get the food and get out of here.”

Kristoff picked up a text book and sneered at Mina. “What is this?”

“Homework,” the half-Asgardian said, filling out the answers in her workbook. “I know it’s a difficult concept, but unlike you, I actually have a life outside of this, and I plan to keep it.”

“You should be working on a spell to send me back to my reality,” Kristoff commanded. “Instead, you waste my time with Calculas.” He tossed the book down.

“Actually, I’m doing my AP English.” Mina wiggled her fingers, bringing the book back. “And the more you bitch, the slower I go.”

“Some Goddess you are.”

“Keep it up, King Nothing, and you’ll get a lightning bolt up the ass.”
