Sean poured himself a cup of coffee and knocked it back just as it was: black as sin. “Does no one in this bloody place sleep at night?” he asked wearily. “Or am I surrounded by insomniacs.”
“I think Everett’s still asleep,” Emma sighed, reaching for the rest of the coffee before her compatriot could finish it off. “And Jubilee has fallen asleep on the couch with Angelo in front of the television. But that may be a diabetic coma.”
“You’re joking, right?” Sean asked, trying to get his brain to finish waking up.
“She ate all of the Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. Again.”
