“Momma, I’m so hungry…” Marius groaned, trembling as his mother’s fingers caressed his brow lightly, a look of concern on her pretty face. She looked so much like her daughters.
“I’ll call a doctor. You’re not well.”
Marius grabbed her wrist before she could reach for the phone. “Please, Momma, I’m starving.”
“It’s going to be alright, my little lamb,” she murmured soothingly. “I’ll get the cook to bring you up something to eat.”
“I need to eat now,” Marius growled, moving swiftly and pinning his mother to the bed. He smiled an awful smile, resting on mawed hand on her forehead. “Don’t worry, it will only hurt for a moment.”
