Emma looks at them, her new team, this Generation X, and sometimes what she sees is her Hellions. This was where they died, right in this school, where they should have been safest. This place was filled with their ghosts, metaphorically if not literally. Her new students had a talent for invoking those shades of the past.
She didn’t want these children to become more ghosts, wandering the halls of her mind, haunting her thoughts.
She would teach them to defend themselves and make themselves safe.
