Victor nudged Paras gently and pointed to the east as the younger Indian boy looked at him sleepily. “Look, we did it.”
“Sun comes up every day, Victor,” Paras yawned. “Nothing new.”
“Yeah, but those wizard guys were gonna steal it, and we stopped them. So, this is a very important sunrise, and we should watch it.”
“Yuh-huh,” Paras sighed, closing his eyes and leaning against Victor’s shoulder. “Great. We’re heroes. Huzzah.”
“Yeah,” Victor sighed happily, threading his fingers through Paras’ hair and watching the sunlight move across it, “we are.”
