He took a deep breath of the smoggy Los Angeles air, letting it burn his lungs before exhaling with a cough.
He knew he couldn’t afford to fuck up this time. If he didn’t get it right, that was it. Game over. He wouldn’t even exist in limbo... for him, it would be total oblivion. The forces he had made the deal with had been very clear on that point.
He had a job to do.
