“Guys? I think I found the hide out,” Cassie announced, her voice thin and squeaky over the radio.

There was a pause, then Vision’s voice came out of her earpiece. [Good. Head back to the Lair and we’ll plan our next step.]

“Or we could just go in now,” Tommy suggested. “I’m tired of waiting for these jackasses to do something. Let’s kick some ass.”

[We are short four teammates, Speed. Better to proceed with caution.]

“Bor-ring.”

Teddy waited until fifteen minutes after the final student had passed him by before going in to Billy’s school in search for his boyfriend.

It wasn’t entirely unusual. Sometimes Billy ran late. School stuff would do that.

But Billy would text him when he was running late, and he wasn’t answering his phone..

A quick search of the school turned up no signs of Billy. That was when Teddy really started to worry. An equally quick search of Billy’s locker turned up the spell caster’s backpack, cell phone, and pages that looked like they had been torn out of a book, written in a language that Teddy couldn’t ready, but did recognize.

“Oh God no.”

“So, do we kill him now?” Ricky asked nervously, staring at the boy unconscious inside the pentagram.

“No,” Mina sighed. “We’re going to leave him right there, undamaged, until Kristoff and Tak come back. Now stop fidgeting and go be on guard. I have no doubt his friends will come for him as soon as they figure out what we’ve done.”
