Title: Water Lily
Universe: That Damn Mpreg
Rating: PG
Summary: They say Lilian has her mother’s smile.
Lilian Beaubier was far more comfortable in the water than out. This had been true even before her mutation had kicked in, and so it was absolutely no surprise to anyone that she could be found in the lake (which she considered far more comfortable than the school’s chemical laden pool), floating just beneath the surface.
Henry McCoy Jr. found her easily enough.
“You’re gonna turn into a prune.”
Lilian looked up at Henry through the water, watching his hair twisted around itself into a series of complicated braids, then promptly unravel so that it hovered around his head like a cloud. She kicked lazily, breaking the surface. “Am not,” she retorted.
“You coming out any time soon?” he asked, green tendrils of hair wrapping around the crown of his head.
“The water is pleasantly sun warmed, and no one but you seems willing to come down here and bother me. So… no.” She watched her own long, pale hair float around her in the slightly murky water before diving down, abruptly ending the conversation and splashing Henry while she was at it. She heard him shout and sputter, and she grinned.
People said that she had her mother’s smile.
