Author's Notes: I own nothing. Written for
crazedwolf as part of a
Fic Exchange. Ultimately, it was Julian’s fault. Victor was only there because of his chronic inability to say ‘no’ to the telekinetic, so when Julian insisted that they had to find where Sofia had gone, Victor went with him without so much as a squeak of protest.
This was what lead to him being trapped in a secret Kree military installation hidden in Colorado with Decibel, desperately trying to escape their pending execution.
“If I don’t get out of this, I’m haunting Julian for the rest of his life.”
“Been through worse,” Decibel said laconically, pursing his lips. Victor found himself thinking that, if you ignored the fact that they were blue, they were very attractive lips.
Curse you, hormones, Victor thought immediately after the thought crossed his mind. “Yeah, which is why dying here would be so lame.”
Decibel laughed softly. “Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine.”
“I’m more cheerful when I’m not fighting aliens after going across the country looking for my best friend’s missing ex-girlfriend.”
“You can take it out on Julian when we find him. After I’m done with him, anyway.” He pressed against the wall, and Victor went into his camouflage mode, venturing forward cautiously.
Sadly, camouflage did little to full the heat and motion sensors, so that was about the time the automated defenses in the hall activated. They fired for only a few moments before a sonic scream shattered the more delicate components within. Decibel raced down the hall, grabbing Victor’s arm and pulling him along.
“Th- I- uhm-”
The grey skinned former mutant threw a smirk over his shoulder. “You can thank me properly when we get out of here.”
