“Victor, honey? Is everything okay?”
Victor pulled the last of the tacks out of the wall and started rolling up the poster of Jean-Paul Beaubier from back when he was still an Olympic skier. “Just fine,” he said calmly. “Why?”
His mother reached into the box of things Victor had marked for getting rid of and pulled out an Alpha Flight action figure. “You’ve been acting a little strangely, is all.”
“I just felt like redecorating,” he explained, sticking the poster into the box. “This can all go to the neighborhood yard sale tomorrow. Maybe I’ll paint the walls later.” He gave her a thin smile. “I just felt like a change, Mom. Nothing to worry about.”
