Haru looked at Katara looking at him, and he knew, deep in his gut, that he had to live up to her expectations. She had come for him, and she had stayed when she’d had the chance to leave. She had brought all of the Earthbenders just what they needed to fight back.
He couldn’t let her down. If he did, he might as well just throw himself off the side of the prison and let the sea swallow him up.
He scooped up the coal and shot it right at the back of the warden’s head.
