Summary: Two of the Guthrie brothers have a little talk about being an X-Man.
Sean Cassidy-Guthrie sucked on his teeth as his younger brother brooded over a bagel. “I’m never gonna be an X-Man,” Terry sighed in defeat. “I’m - I’m a Spot on the Wall.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing,” Sean said. “You gonna eat that?”
Terry eyed his brother and took a vicious bite out of his bagel. “Easy for you to say. You’re an X-Man. I’m Static Cling Guy. I’m the only one of us who isn’t an X-Man, or X-Man material.”
“Untrue,” Sean countered. “Lots of our cousins aren’t X-Men, and aren’t going to be. Like Mirah, she hasn't got any powers at all.”
“Yeah, but Mom and Dad were both X-Men, and you and Blanche… God, Sean, I’m such a fucking failure. What am I gonna do?”
Sean watched his brother, his disappointment at his perceived failure writ large on his face. “I wish I could tell you, Terry.”
