William Kaplan looked up sharply from his book, his gaze focusing on his five year old son. The boy was gazing unfocusedly at the wall while Rebecca rolled a ball to Jeff. "Bobby?"

The little boy blinked, his brown eyes focusing. "Yeah, Papa?"

Will frowned, studying his son. Something had happened. He had felt it, for a moment. And he had a sneaking suspicion that Bobby was involved. But he couldn't place what it was, and the feeling faded. Rebecca bounced the ball off Bobby's head, and suddenly Will was too busy separating his children to worry about it.

Cassie Lang lay on her bed and struggled to get into her jeans. She was at her normal size, and these had fit her last month... "Vizh?"

[Yes, Cassie?] Vision's head phased through the door.

"I'm not putting on weight, am I?"

Vision hesitated. This was dangerous territory, and he damn well knew it. [I could conduct a biological scan, if you wish,] he said. He had discovered the hard way long ago that it was unwise to do a scan without express permission outside an emergency situation.

"Sure," Cassie grunted, trying to tug the zipper on her jeans up. Vision would have been perfectly happy to see her like that the rest of the day, but he knew they both had things that they had to get on with.

The next thing Cassie knew, Vizh was looking down at her, an _expression of cold fury on his face. [How could you?] he hissed before phasing through the floor.

"What?" Cassie sat up, watching the top of Vision's head disappear into the carpet. "What the hell?" She scrambled for her communicator. "Locate Vision!"

The comm unit beeped. --Vision. Location: Avengers Tower, mobile.-- It beeped again as Cassie threw off the ill-fitting jeans and pulled on her sweat pants. --Vision. Location: Day Room.-- There was a third beep, followed by Tommy's frantic call for help, declaring that Vision had gone crazy, and would someone hurry cause his kid was in the room.

Cassie arrived in the Day Room to find Will pulling Vizh off Tommy with a containment spell while Nico stood protectively over her daughter, the Staff of One out and a spell on her lips. Tommy wiped blood from his mouth.

"What is going on in here?" Gert demanded as she charged into the room, Old Lace hot on her heels.

"Vizh lost his goddamn mind!" Tommy explained. "I've never slept with Cassie, dammit!"

"The hell?" Cassie repeated.

[Then can someone explain to me how it is Cassie is almost two months pregnant?] Vision asked coldly.

"The hell?" Cassie said for the third time. "You think I'm-- you think me and Tommy--!" She spluttered. "I would never-!"

[You went drinking wit him the last time Ms. Minoru and he were fighting. That was almost two months ago.] Vision said in an all too logical tone. By then, the rest of the team had come in response to Tommy's distress call. Things were quite, save for the sounds of Ray-Ray playing with her toy cars and ignoring the stupid adults.

Vision had been on a mission in Nevada that night, and Tommy had invited Cassie for a night of drinking and bitching about their significant others.

"I never slept with Cassie!" Tommy insisted.

[Then can you tell me where you were that night?]

"No," Tommy said, not looking at anyone, "I can't."

"He was with me."

All eyes turned to Victor Borkowski, who flicked quick glances at Tommy, Nico, and Will as he spoke.

"I joined them a little while after they left the Tower," he went on, his tone clipped.

"Vic, you don't-" Tommy said softly, reaching out to the mutant.

"We left Cassie around one and got a motel room. He was with me the rest of the night. Check my credit card if you want, the bill's on there."

"Aw, hell Vic," Tommy murmured as Victor turned on his heel and walked out of the room.

Things were still intensly quiet.

"I can't be pregnant," Cassie pointed out, her voice filled with fury.

Will stared broodily at nothing, his hands folding as he dropped the containment spell on Vision. He had an off look on his face as he left the day room, returning a few minutes later with Bobby in tow. The white haired five-year-old smiled in his gap-toothed way and ran up to Cassie, proudly stating how she and Uncle Vizh would be a great mommy and daddy.

"So," Spider-Man said, "who just won the inexplicable pregnancy pool?"

runaways, marvel, x-men, young avengers, that damn mpreg
