Sofia nudged Jono with the toe of her shoe, looking down on him with a bemused expression. “If you don’t get off the floor, those kids are going to use you for a trampoline.”
“I think I’m going to burst if they do,” Jono groaned. “Just leave me here to die. I don’t think I can move.”
“That’s what you get for stuffing yourself like that.”
“Can you really blame me?” Jono sighed, giving Sofia a woebegone expression that she sometimes likened to a kicked puppy. “It’s my first proper American Thanksgiving. For years I’ve watched people gorge themselves, so now it’s my turn.” He tried, and failed, to sit up. “I think I’ll just lie here for a bit.”
“Perhaps we should juice you, like that girl from Willy Wonka,” Sofia mused.
