Arystar Krory watched Miranda Lotto’s normally pale skin turned slowly pinker and wondered if perhaps he had said something wrong; it was entirely possible, thanks to the way his grandfather had raised him. He had little practice with social graces, though he had memorized every book of etiquette in his grandfather’s library. It had been a way to pass the time, not anything he had ever actually expected to use.
Krory watched his fellow exorcist warily, unsure of what we should do.
“Y-you’re welcome, Mr. Krory,” Miranda finally stammered out, pushing the pepper across the table to rest next to the salt, which she had already put in front of Krory.
