"Hey, Kevin."

Kevin Ford barely blinked, his eyes sliding from the sculpture in front of him to the green man standing beside him. "Vic. I didn't think industrial art was your thing."

"It isn't, but I recognized the style when I saw the add." Victor snagged a champagne flute from a passing waiter and took a sip. "You should call the Institute and let them know you're alright."

"Maybe later," Kevin said with a wave of his gloved hand. "So, how've you been, Mr. Avenger Guy?"

Victor shrugged. "Busy. You?"

"Same old, same old. Righting wrongs, defending the helpless, trying not to touch people, riding off into the sunset and all that." His gaze scanned the gathering, his lips twisting into a slightly bitter smile. "It never ceases to amaze me what people will flock to see."

"You do good work. You deserve the praise." Victor cocked his head to one side, studying the sculpture in front of him. "Rather henge-like."

"Mm."

"Cess misses you."

Kevin shook his head. "I'll see her when I'm ready."

"I know."
