Teddy propped his elbows up on the table, looking at the cake laid out there. Despite his best effort, it had absolutely refused to slide neatly from the Barbie mold, and so it was really more a bunch of large cake chunks than an honest to God cake. Becca climbed up onto the stool next to him, mirroring her father’s pose. “Bobby stole the icing anyway.”
“He got the decoy,” Teddy assured her, ruffling her hair. “Not sure how I’d get the icing on now, but…” He sighed.
“Bobby’d eat it anyway.”
“I think we’ve established that Bobby will eat anything as long as it’s sweet, Princess.” He sighed again. “We’ll go buy you a cake when Papa gets home.”
“A blue one?” Becca asked hopefully. “With the sparkly sprinkles and little flowers?”
“Of course.”
“Does Kl’rt like cake?” Becca asked. “We should save him some.”
“I’ll be sure to ask next time I see him.”
