Wally Barton watched in silence as Becca Altman-Kaplan held a wad of tissue to her nose. She pulled the wad away once to glare at the blood that soaked it as if it personally offended her.
“So you can bleed.”
Becca turned a blood shot eye on the red haired archer. “Ha. Ha.”
“What happened out there, Becca?” Wally asked in a gentler tone. “One minute it’s business as usual, then you got all super nova, and then you’re…” He made a vague gesture at her nose and the wad of bloody tissue.
“The less you-”
“If you say ‘the less you know, the less that can be used against me’, I’m going to shoot you,” Wally snapped. “Don’t you trust me?”
Becca looked up at him, then quietly pointed out, “I don’t trust anyone.”
