“I had fun,” Wanda said, and Kurt nearly fell out of his chair. He tightening his toe’s grip on the edge of his chair, staring at the girl. Taking her out had been the professor’s idea, an effort to help the members of the former Brotherhood in to the school.
They’d ended up drawing lots. Kurt had gotten Wanda, and had taken her to the mall. Toad had followed them, dragging Bobby along with him, but the boys kept their distance (thank God). Wanda didn’t talk much, she just sat there with him in the food court, watching people and listening to Kurt talk. Kurt managed to ignore Toad and his Death Glare.
Wanda had even laughed once.
“I’m glad?” Kurt ventured.
