So uh, it's not official yet, but it looks like I may be offered a place at my first choice university o/ I got a phone call from the head of department, he said my application and references were very good and they were very interested in me as an applicant. And he invited me to an interview and open day around February to March. Note that by that

AHAHA YES IT WAS HARD but my teachers wrote me an absolutely brilliant reference (I seriously blushed with all the praise they were giving me) and gave me massive amounts of help with my personal statement.
