OOC: Jezebel's Biography
Jezebel "Jez" Dorny is a seventeen year old student at Hogwarts, in the Slytherin house. She hails from the East Midlands, Nottingham, to be precise, which is where she spent her time growing up.
Her parents, Hera Malfoy and Jonathan Dorny, were high school sweethearts at Hogwarts, despite being in different houses: Hera being in Slytherin, the house all of her family has been sorted into to date, and Jonathan being a Ravenclaw and Quidditch captain, leading the team to their first Quidditch Cup in over two decades.
Jez posesses the typical look of a Malfoy, with her long flowing blonde hair, but that's where the similarities end. Her honey-toned skin from her father's side helps her love of the sun. Holidays abroad with her father and step-mother, Meryl, generally involved her favourite holiday past time of lying on the beach doing nothing, instead of exploring the old wizarding ruins that Meryl loves most, both for pleasure and for her work in being a historian and archivist. She is currently writing the new edition of "Hogwarts: A History".
Family life has always been strained for Jez; her parents broke up shortly after the war began as Hera followed her family's long loyalty towards the Slytherin Heir compared to Jonathan's allegience to Dumbledore, having done valuable work for the Order of the Phoenix with him being stationed in the Department of Mysteries.
All Jez can remember of the split was having her bags packed and being sent to her grandparents' house. Her parents never mentioned why they broke up to her, instead she found out through her cousin, Draco. It is because of this that she has a Mrs Norris-like ability to know about everything that's going on, and she'll drop off portions of information in order to stir up situations.
However things have improved since her father re-married, having met Meryl in the Quidditch archives, where she was doing some research for a book on the Chudley Cannons, which she claims she only did for the money. They now live in Nottingham and commute by Portkey to work each day. They have two children, both boys, called Samuel and Tobias, who are 6 and 3 respectively. Jez loves to baby sit her younger brothers, showing off her already acomplished Transfiguration skills and Charm work, which are her strengths at school.
Having spent most of her time growing up with her father, Jez is very close to him, and often accompanies him to Quidditch matches, which he attends as part of his new role as Head of The Department of Magical Games and Sports, having replaced Ludo Bagman after the Triwizard Tournament. He once quoted being given the post as "a dream job".
Her relationship with her mother has not always run smoothly as they do not talk often, but being sorted into her mother's old house has brought her closer to the Malfoy in her, being protected by her older cousin and any friends of his when she gets in trouble. She also spends some time with her mother's family each summer, but has promised herself not to get involved in the politics of magic as she secretly thought that Dumbledore was a great man and headteacher, and she's seen what being too involved at a young age can do to people, namely Draco.
Her relationships with her peers have been peculiar, choosing not to stick with a single group of people at a time. With her passion of finding out everything, she prefers to spend her time alone, only speaking to people if she needs to. She generally avoids Gryffindors, where in her view they are too high and mighty for her, and prefers talking with the trouble makers from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
For her house mates, she isn't close to many of them, preferring to be a bystander, even around her cousin. She only uses information about people when she knows it will be used to her advantage, such as the fact that she knows about Quintus Harper's smoking habits, and various betting rings.
Jezebel's love life has revolved around Quidditch players. With her father's status and her good looks, she is currently in a relationship with the Montrose Magpies Chaser Sylvester McGrey, who is five years her senior. Openly bisexual, she also had a month's fling with the Hollyhead Harpies Beater Rebecca Lightfoot whilst on "a break" from McGrey. Her only provisos for men, or women, are that they are willing to experiment, pureblooded (at her mother's insistance) and that their faces wouldn't break a mirror.
But none of this stops her from cheering on her Quidditch team of choice: the Falmouth Falcons.
At Hogwarts, she has a natural gift for Transfiguration and Charms, but doesn't put this into practice in her lessons, where she prefers to relax and not pay much attention. People always claim that she has a Time Turner to help her with her homework but she insists that she doesn't. She averages an E for most of her subjects, but like most teenagers, hasn't got the foggiest when it comes to her career: her mother would like her to settle down, marry a pureblooded wizard and provide grandchildren for her, while her father is prompting her to join the Ministry, possibly as an Obliviator, but Jez secretly harbours ambitions of being the next Rita Skeeter, only better.
In her spare time, Jezebel loves to sneak out and see her boyfriend, generally using Draco and his friends as alibis. She also spends her time, like any NEWT student, doing essays and working on improving her weaknesses and maintaining her strengths, particularly with and without the wand.
