So Andy had mentioned last year that he wanted to be Link (from Zelda) for Halloween...that was after I'd made his Kiba costume. So I said he could do it this year if he still wanted to...and he does. So! I am going to buy the stuffs to start on it tomorrow (or so) and need some advice.

On how to make Link's boots...here are a couple of pictures

I would join the craftgrrl lj comm and post something there. They're really helpful and pretty nice over there.

I ended up making four pairs of boots for the Link costumes I threw onto the guys and myself last AWA. If you look into Kwik-Sew (which is such a lie!) in their sleepwear stuff, you can find a pattern for house slippers and adjust for height and whatnot. I recommend apolstry (sp?) vinyl in brown for stability and correct look -- though it is a bitch to run through a machine. Also, a little fun foam inside for the soles coupled with some sort of insole works wonders.

Simple boot covers:

More complicated example demonstration:

I hope this helps! :D
