It sounds like you will be able to apply for unemployment. I would do it ASAP since they are pretty swamped and it might take a few weeks until you get checks after you apply. If you had a job where you made more money during the holidays you will get a bigger paycheck since they base your benefits off your highest earning quarter during the last year.

Oh yeah you can still collect unemployment when you move to AZ (assuming you still are unemployed) as long as you are looking for a job

Take a few days to collect yourself, apply for unemployment, and get yer resume up to date.

Yeah dude, the EDD definitely needs to hear about this. Sounds like it might even be a possible case of wrongful termination.

That sounds very much like wrongful termination and is illegal. I would look into it further.
