The franchise was on life support, and gasping away while we hoped for resuscitation. So, no Stargate movies, the franchise is completely dead. Aw, this makes me sad.

When Stargate was good, it was so good. It seemed to me that the creators behind the shows (all of them) got creativity fatigue or something; I was much fonder of the early to mid seasons of both SG1 and SGA. To me, SGU seemed like them desperately trying for something *new* and *different;* the problem being that they (1) left so many of the things people loved about the stargate verse by the wayside, and (2) were trying to be dark and edgy in a way that didn't work for most people (and felt like a poorly done homage to Battlestar Galactica).

I miss the early days with Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c. :(

I think one of the most fascinating things is the steadfast refusal to believe their show was Just Not Good or even A Little Off on the parts of the PTB. It's almost a testament to the human spirit (of self-delusion) that they are so stubborn about it. OUR SHOW WAS GREAT is, was, and ever shall be their motto, and if you found even the tiniest detail to criticize in SGU, well, what's wrong with *you*?
