The next day around eight o’clock in the evening, Heechul and Hankyung arrived at Deseos. Hand-in-hand, dressed as the top-notch hosts they were, they walked straight to Min Ki’s office and entered without knocking. Min Ki was on the phone as the two strolled up to his desk and stood there, staring at him as he finished his conversation.
“Guys, what’s this about? Hankyung... you’re supposed to be upstairs.... Heechul, you’re still on suspension. You shouldn’t even be here!” Min Ki said to them, terribly confused. He looked down and saw their conjoined hands, and a small realization started to hit him.
“We’re quitting. Starting immediately,” Heechul stated simply, “I’m no longer going to be host and Hankyung will never have to be a prostitute ever again.”
Min Ki looked to either one of them with a knowing look. To be honest, after he had heard about Heechul’s paid visit to Hankyung the previous night, he had expected something like this. Not so soon, though. But still, he wasn’t surprised.
“Aish, well... if that’s what you boys want, I can’t stop you,” Min Ki replied, with a small grin. Even if he was losing two of his best employees, he was happy. Two months ago when Heechul first started at Deseos, Min Ki could tell that he was much more than the smart-ass kid that he put off to be. But it wasn’t until Hankyung came along did Min Ki notice that facade start to fade. He was genuinely happy for the two.
Then a frightening realization hit him.
“Hankyung, your usual customer tonight is.....” Min Ki started and then trailed off.
Hankyung looked directly at him, eyes becoming wider as he realized what Min Ki was going to say. He dropped Heechul’s hand and buried his face in his hands.
Heechul looked from Min Ki to Hankyung, confused. “What’s going on?” He asked, sensing the immediate seriousness of the other two, “Who’s supposed to be Chinaman’s customer?”
Hankyung met Heechul’s confused look and instantly looked away, “Ji Jin.”
“Not anymore he isn’t. And he isn’t going to get any from you tonight.... or ever again,” Heechul stated.
“Heechul, don’t underestimate Ji Jin. He’s a very rich and powerful man. And Hankyung’s his favorite..... He’s very protective... You know what happened last time Hankyung tried to refuse him.”
Heechul looked at the cuts still visible on Hankyung’s face. How could he forget what had happened to him? How could he forget how he wasn’t able to be there... to protect him? And yes, he was aware of Ji Jin’s power and influence. He knew that Ji Jin wasn’t going to take the news of Hankyung quitting well. He knew all that.
But Heechul also knew that he and Hankyung had to get out of Deseos. That was the only way he could be there for him, to protect him.
“What are we supposed to do then, Min Ki? Say ‘Haha, just kidding, we’re not quitting because we’re afraid of this one guy. So we’re just going to stay and let him continually rape Hankyung!’ NO!” Heechul said, angrily, “Hankyung and I are getting out of here. I’m not going to let Ji Jin stop us.”
Min Ki stood up and nodded his head. “Okay, Heechul. Just be careful, whatever you do. Ji Jin has influence all over,” He sighed, a half smile appearing on his face, “You guys were wonderful and it was an honor getting to work with you. Good luck, boys.”
Heechul took Hankyung’s hand in his once more and nodded, “Thanks, Min Ki-hyung.”
A smile spread across Hankyung’s face as Heechul held his hand protectively and let him out of Min Ki’s office and out of the employee area. Together, they walked down the hall of the host club. Hankyung looked through the open doorways into the entertainment area. His free hand lifted up and he waved. Heechul turned to look at him.
“You’re almost as much as a sentimental softy as Siwon,” He laughed as he tugged on Hankyung’s hand, “You hate this place... why bother saying ‘goodbye’?”
“I do hate this place, but we spent so much time here together. I’m just saying goodbye to those memories.”
Heechul stopped and turned to look at the other boy. His eyes were met by the other’s sincere, gentle ones and his heart felt like it was falling for Hankyung all over again. And he loved that feeling - he loved being in love.
Hankyung smiled and looked around. “Nope, not here, too many people.” He took Heechul’s hand and hurried out of the hall into the entrance lobby. Just as expected, the place was fairly empty seeing as everyone was either occupied by a guest in the entertainment area or upstairs.
Hankyung spun around and and surprised Heechul’s lips by placing his own on them. “I love when you look at me like that,” He said before kissing the older boy again.
“Like what?”
“Like I’m the only person on this earth you care about.”
Heechul wrapped his arms around Hankyung’s waist and pulled the other closer to him. “You’re pretty conceited, Chinaman, if you think that way. There are other people I care about too,” He chuckled softly.
“Sure. Like who?”
“Siwon. Boy is pretty scrumptious looking once you get past the fact he talks too much.”
Hankyung nodded, “True. He has the arms and abs of a God.”
Heechul’s eyes narrowed, “Are you trying to make me jealous, Chinaman?”
“Weren’t you trying to do the same thing to me?” Hankyung wrapped his arms around Heechul’s neck, “Don’t think I can’t see through your acting!”
“You know me too well, don’t you? Oh, Chinaman, why would I look at anyone else when I got the real good foreign stuff right here,” Heechul pressed his lips to Hankyung’s. This kiss was more passionate, more loving than the other few had been. Hankyung’s eyes fluttered closed when Heechul’s tongue started tangling with his, and his insides started to get all warm and fuzzy.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!”
Heechul felt himself being torn away from Hankyung by two strong hands on each of shoulders. He stumbled backwards as Ji Jin stepped in front of Hankyung and slapped the younger boy across the face.
“SO YOU DECIDE TO STAND ME UP FOR THAT PRAT?!” Ji Jin yelled at Hankyung, walking closer to him, backing him up against the wall, “How many times have I told you that you’re mine, huh?! I pay for you. You belong to me!”
Ji Jin’s hand raised again. Hankyung closed his eyes, turned his head away, and braced himself for the blow. But he never felt Ji Jin’s hand make contact with his face. Cautiously, Hankyung opened his eyes to see Heechul in front of him, glaring down at Ji Jin, who was on the floor, hand on his cheek.
“You won’t ever hurt Hankyung again. You won’t ever touch him again. And over my dead body will you ever violate him again.” Heechul continued to glower down at Ji Jin.
Ji Jin was livid. But there was nothing he could here, in a public place. His scowl kept moving from Heechul to Hankyung as he stood up. “You’ll regret this, Heechul... Both of you will.”
“Try anything you want, Ji Jin, but believe me when I say that you’ll never get to Hankyung.”
Heechul grabbed Hankyung’s hand and the two headed towards the door quickly.
“Hankyung-ah....”
Hankyung didn’t know why, but he felt compelled to turn his head to look at the sadistic older man standing in the lobby.
“I’ll be seeing you very soon.”
The younger boy suddenly felt very sick as he rushed after Heechul out of Deseos. His grip on Heechul’s hand tightened and didn’t let up the entire way back to his apartment.
It didn’t take much pleading on Hankyung’s part to convince Heechul to stay the night. As he lay next to Heechul in his bed, even with Heechul’s protective arms wrapped around him, Hankyung couldn’t still shake the ominous feeling he felt in his gut.
Something bad was going to happen...
