Nashville Has No Gas

I'm sure that it's all because of rumors that Nashville doesn't have any gas, but gas stations in Nashville are dry. Every gas station I pass has all its numbers taken down, and every pump covered with a plastic bag. This would not usually be a problem for my fuel-efficient Toyota Corolla, but my gas light came on last Thursday, which means that ( Read more... )

I hear that Atlanta is running out of gas. What stinks is that it's all just rumors that people's fear feeds into. The best way to avoid it is to not panic, and to tell as many people as you can not to panic. The only catch is if you honestly need gas... then you seem to participate just as much as everyone else.

Nashville is getting gas on usual schedules, but since everyone is freaking out, it doesn't stay in the pumps for long, and most stations have long lines around them.

Hope you are well!

it's partly because people are freaking out and partly because the southeast isn't getting as much gas as it usually does. some refineries still aren't producing normal amounts after the hurricanes in the gulf.

in any case i need gas and i don't want to drive around wasting the gas i do have just to look for gas :( instead i will eat lunch at work and keep my eye out for some gas on the way home.

My poor bike needs serious air in the tires, and I'm just now trying to coordinate with a friend who lives close by to borrow his air pump. Then we'll see. :)

Aww, wish you were near me so I could help you out. I have a pump and--thanks to some clown in Jacksonville who stole my bike over a year ago--have not had much use for it. (But my new roommate has a bike, so maybe it will come in handy soon.)

I just saw something on CNN today about Nashville's gas problem. Then they started talking about Marietta. Can I say that I'm glad I'm in Virginia?
