You know, if you're going to get all bent out of shape to the point of "wanting the dog's collar back on so it will hurt when I lift her" (as opposed to the harness my beagle is currently wearing) and insisting she either be on leash or crated in the house at all times because she got into the food cabinet and ate an entire bag of uncooked egg ( Read more... )

Maybe they should reconsider the dog thing altogether. Intentionally wanting to punish with pain really isn't the mark of a good animal caretaker.

Install baby locks on the cabinets. Then your mom can keep her precious egg noodles on the lower shelf and your dog can't get into trouble with her.

Agreed, far from ants, other insects, and - if you live near large fields like I do - rodents that could get in! I thought that was just logic. Odd parents...

sometimes i wish i had just waited to get a dog until after i moved out. my mom has a hard time comprehending that even just the smallest things could have huge possibly expensive possibly DEADLY consequences to the 2 small dogs that we have taken in this year. like her godaweful potpourri for example. ugh.
