I'm divorced so I get that sometimes ending a marriage is the most compassionate thing but it's almost never a good thing. However, her reaction was crass and boorish. There's nothing a body likes more than a hearty congratulations when Mom runs off to live with her young boyfriend. I think the guy should have punched her in the nose.
