The cabin door is open to the night, only something's wrong. Instead of it being clear and cool the way it was when he dropped off, curls of mist hover in the door, the air heavy. )

In other words, great job creating a vivid reality that leaps right off the page. Plus, the idea of people actually checking up on Sam is kinda cool.

I wanted to show Sam alone and yet not alone--he has a support network but they're at a distance. It's interesting to me to think of Sam leaning a bit on others in this crisis--but without going down some regrettable path to get help. And that there are people looking after him, as much as he'll allow them.

Like Jody and Charlie mentions. Man, I hope they show back up!

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked--I think something more than just a dream was going on there. It might've been Sam's subconscious, or it might've been more than that.

Love all the mentions of Sam's allies. He's alone in terms of not having his brother, but he does have people looking out for him.
I didn't consider that Sam wouldn't immediately know where Dean & Cas went. But of course... it makes sense that he wouldn't immediately assume Purgatory. There's no real reason to. Awww, Sam. You'll figure it out. In the meantime, eat, sleep and use the friends you have.
Sam's dream was well creepy and it's interesting that Sam's mind (once again) might give him the answers he's looking for. I did also like he would be comforted by the fact that Cas would be with Dean.
Lovely tag hun. Great observations.<3333

It's not completely clear to me whether we're supposed to think Sam immediately knows where Dean and Cas have gone. Sam is very smart and could likely piece it together quickly, even if he doesn't immediately get it. Also I had a thought about the dream maybe being Sam's subconscious at work but maybe it's a bit more as well.
Sam would at this point trust Cas to look after Dean, but Sam's view of Cas re Sam is likely a bit more of an unknown quantity to him. He would, I think, find it comforting that they have Castiel in their corner.
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed this! <3

Sam is alone and yet not alone--I wanted to use the messages and emails as a device, they're there and yet not *there*. And yeah, Sam getting obsessive and focused and determined, not choosing a regrettable route--no less focused and determined all the same, while he is reaching out to people he knows, *letting* them help him.
So glad you liked, thank you!
