It lives.....
Okay, so I'm a slacker. I pretty much haven't been around anywhere. Partly due to the whole "burying head in sand in an attempt to avoid making difficult/unpleasant decisions" thing that I do.
So, my last couple of weeks in brief.
Lost Andi (and Fitz)
Found Andi (and Fitz)
Lost them again For good. Sad, lonely Doth. They're such great guys and Andi has been one of my biggest inspirations since I first ran into him online. Yet again I kind of wish I lived in the UK so that maybe I could see him IRL since he is no longer online at all.
*Pulls self together to continue whirlwind update*
Sister arrived with her boyfriend. They got off the plane, we all came back to my place, they went into my room and went to bed for four hours. Then they went to Mum and Dad's.
Okay, in their defence Fi wasn't particularly well and Lee was just finishing getting over the bug that Fi had come down with.
Later in the week they came back into town, they saw bits of Chch and got hideously sunburned. Met up with them for dinner. We came back to my place, went to sleep and I left for work in the morning about 2mins after Fi woke up and while Lee was still asleep. They went down to stay with my brother for several days.
They came back into town for Mum's birthday on Monday. As did my brother. Mum, Dad, Alister, Fi, Lee, Duncan and myself all went up the Gondola for dinner. The Gondola is worth going up. The restaurant isn't. Not in the slightest. Ah well.
Then there was the come-back-to-my-place-sleep-go-in-the-morning-without-really-seeing-them-and-they-leave-during-the-day thing as before.
On Sunday they get on another plane and go home. So much for Fi coming over and spending several days with me. *Grumps selfishly*
Just for future notice people: I know I continually say "Come to NZ, I've can provide crash space", however, I do actually expect to see you when you take me up on it. I'm not a free hotel.
Ah well, moaning over. What else has been happening? Not much really.
NM has pretty much died. I think there have been about half a dozen actual game posts since Andi left. The fact that most of the prolific posters left in sympathy didn't help. Aza's done most of the game posts since the exodus. I think there might have been one from someone else.
Aza has been round a few times. She's been doing so much stuff with her character that it's developing into actual fic. Whatever she may attempt to say to the contrary. She's also been working on alternate history stuff. The downside of which is that I'm losing my grip on my character due to the combination of lack of play on NM and the conflicting history. Such is life. I'm sure I'll get in touch again when neccesary.
Work has been busy, busy, busy. Boring, routine and tedious beyond measure, but it's certainly keeping me busy. Found a bunch of stuff the other day which I thought I'd done, but which had actually been on hold. *Sigh* Now I have to find the time to do it in. Easier said than done.
The Civil Union bill has been making progress through parliment. I believe it was being voted on today, but I haven't heard how it panned out. I really, really hope it gets/got through. If it did, I'll probably update tomorrow ecstatically cartwheeling around the room.
I haven't slept much, but that's not really a new thing. At the moment I'm completely crashing due to exhaustion once a week. The only downside it that it tends to be Tuesday night. Well, Wednesday morning really. I wake up when Stephen gets here and starts hammering on the door and ringing the doorbell madly because we should be on our way to work. Not good really. Still, any sleep is better than none.
Okay, so not hugely coherent. You can't expect miracles people. Not from me, at any rate.
I've probably left stuff out, but it's probably not hugely important. Or if it is, I'll mention it later when I think of it again.
