I generally hate saying this because it's mostly impossible, but I think I actually really understand where you're coming from. I can relate to it, at least, to some extent.
I used to feel the same way about the food my parents cooked/prepared when I lived at home, and had a similar experience that if I tried to cook something healthy for myself it had to be a meal for the whole family. I understand the feeling of having to eat "probably 700 calories of total junk, and I don't even like it and "But if it's completely unhealthy, and it's A LOT and I don't even like it, I'm disgusted" However, my parents reacted very differently than yours whenever I said something, so I've never experienced the absolute impotent frustration that I can imagine feeling were I in your position, with comments such as "listen to this child complaining".
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I relate to what you're feeling, except that I think you have it worse that I did; and that I don't think you're a whining idiot.
Well, he's never actually said the words "listen to this child complaining," but the nuance is there. He will give my mother a look, this smile with leery eyes, as if I weren't there, or as if I were a little baby saying something she knows nothing about. What he'll actually say is something about me always "scolding" him, and he'll laugh about it
