There have been a few things rolling around in my head lately. Here they are.
There's this scene in Honey & Clover, end of episode 6, where Ayu, who has the biggest crush ever on Mayama is drunk as hell. Mayama decides to carry her home. He thinks she's totally out of it, so he starts talking about how he knows she's hopeless for him but he doesn't want to lose her by rejecting her romantically. And he sees himself in her, because he's similarly hopelessly lost to another woman. It turns out Ayu is listening, and through her tears she tells him, 好き。。。大好き (I like/love you... I love you so much) over and over, and all he can reply with is うん (yeah) and finally ありがとう (thank you).
I was thinking about this scene, and I'm glad that my penchant for melodrama is subsiding.
This is a new pillows song off of their album Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up! and it was also the ending for some anime called Moonlight Mile. I was pleased to note, while listening to it, that I understood a lot of the phrases without really trying, and when I actually stopped to think about them, realized that they're totally awesome.
Scarecrow (excerpt)
瞬く星見知らぬ闇
半分だけ月が笑う
寂しくない、悲しくない
僕のために君が笑う
I want call you, "Scarecrow"
暮れ行く空、からかう風
二人の手は冷たいけど
離さないで歩いていたい
神様より君を信じる
matataku hoshi mishiranu yami
hanbun dake tsuki ga warau
sabishikunai kanashikunai
boku no tame ni kimi ga warau
I want call you, "Scarecrow"
kureyuku sora karakau kaze
futari no te wa tsumetai kedo
hanasanai de aruiteitai
kamisama yori kimi wo shinjiru
The twinkling stars, the unknown darkness,
It's only half-full but the moon smiles
I'm not lonely, I'm not sad
For my sake, you smile
I want call you, "Scarecrow"
The darkening sky, the teasing wind,
Our hands are cold, but,
Don't let go, I want to walk.
More than God, I believe in you.
Ph33r my table skills. Some of the translation is mine (the rest I agreed with from
the best pillows site/forum I know of). The rest of the song is great too, but these verses are my favorite. Hit me up, I'll send it to you.
I am so so so so so so so excited for Anime Boston. My costume is about 90% done. Maybe even more like 94% done. I'm already daydreaming about all the pictures we're going to take and how awesome we're all going to look. Let's not even talk about how excited I am for this con.
This week was my first typical week of the semester, and I have to say, I'm busy. I kind of just don't stop going all day. I'm hoping I'll have some time to myself somewhere in there. I did manage to find time to watch some more Nodame live action, which really touches me even though I know the story already, and also the Taiko no Tatsujin anime which is, get this... clay-mation. That's right. Some of it was more awesome than others. It was 8 short shorts.
I listened to My Foot today since I missed it after listening to Wake Up!x3 so much. The opening chords of the album still force me to take a few deep breaths. Being able to play all those awesome 2-guitar parts someday is pretty high on my agenda.
Also, I really can't wait to see the DVD-only Baccano! episodes. I'm really kinda holding out for a second season... here's hoping.
You guys are cool.
