Snakes in a Mall. Sounds like an excellent movie.

Alas, it's not the books I love.

It sounds like a very fun movie. They should make a movie like that but not about Will Stanton.

Why did they bother buying the rights to Cooper's books at all?

It's fitting he's more of an outsider than in the book because...because that way we can just plug in our "outsider plot" that we've already seen in lots of movies. Instead of what actually happens or trying to make him an Old One, we can just make it about a nerd who wants to fit in and gets to show all the bullies he's great.

Feh.

Oh, you hadn't heard?

It's all so...surreal. Like a bad dream. I've longed for YEARS for that book to be made into a movie. For a while there were rumors Henson was going to do it.

It was the chase sequence in the mall that pushed me over the edge on this one. When they're done they should publish a book adaptation of the movie, because it'll be different enough they might as well.

I'm officially going to call this DiR, because when you make the title into an acronym it distances it from the source material. Witness LXG and X2.

Good riddance, they probably will.

Of course, this could generate increased sales of the original series. For that reason alone, I hope the movie is a huge hit.

You folks at Walden media just keeping telling yourselves that and you may believe it someday. Keep the faith!

They do. The Christian faith! Which they will no doubt attempt to inject into the story in completely inappropriate ways. Just proof they haven't actually read more than a summary of the book. Feh.

I'll bet money that whole scene in the church, the thing about the cross and God and the sign, is gone from the movie.
