So, you are coming? You made quite an impression on them the last time you were over - they keep asking after you. Apparently they find you interesting. That’s not as bad as it sounds, they’re pretty good about the whole thing.

No, actually, I don't know. What did happen?

Oh, you must know. There was that horrible business with some volcanic dust getting mixed in with Floo powder, and then no one quite knew where they would end up. It was in the papers last month. Dad suspects that someone working in the Ministry is responsible, but of course he'll never be able to confirm it. All the records will have been incinerated by now.
