Most of it, I honestly feel, is pointless, extra writing to appease the graduate college that this is a graduate level program. Bullshit. Yes, yes. I totally agree. (Not to make you more angry...) But you're right. It's fucking filler. But all the more credit to you for doing it AND for doing it well.
The funny thing is if you say that to them (the faculty), as I did, and tell them, "It's jumping through hoops," they don't like it. Not one bit. Fucking academia.
