We are currently under a "Blizzard Warning". That means it's snowy and windy as all get-out. Joe and I went downstairs a little while ago to see how things were. The video above shows our parking lot and the insane sandstorm-esque snow cloud that blew out of the woods at us.

I can't see my car at all and I'm pretty sure the mailbox is going to be claimed in the next hour or so. I'm also getting a good pileup on the front door, but I can't tell if that is for real or just wind blown drifts.

Also, I'm frightened.

They plowed the sidewalk out front and it left legit walls along the side. Never seen it so deep.

Ugh, I hate the rain though. I'll take the snow for a couple days. We went on an arctic adventure across the street earlier. I'll post up pics on FB in a bit.

Luckily not until at least Monday. There are some idiots out there trying to drive around in their SUV's today, but most folks are smart and staying home. We walked across the street to get some Chinese food and take some pics earlier and everyone was just walking in the street.

According to what I've been seeing on the news, this is the most snow DC has seen since 1922, and with another 4 or something it'll be an all- time record. Stay safe and warm! Hot chocolate! Heating pages! Movies and books and internet! All things that make a snow storm survivable.

It's pretty wild. Nothing dangerous for us, luckily. We lost power for a little bit overnight but it's fine now. Just can't go anywhere that's not in easy walking distance. Luckily I'm well stocked on reading material, games and the interwebs. :-)
