Speaking of, I don't know if you have read it but there is a great book on disappointment and how to control it, that likely talks about Lotus's too, called "The Myth of Freedom" it is is patently pivotal.
It is one of the three most powerful books I have ever read. The other two being; "The Wisdom of No Escape, And the Path of loving Kindness" and "The Power of Now".
I am not sure what you are going through right now but one chapter out of any of those three books will likely help.
Also, if you are like me and to an extent I would say you are (you are a bit more open though) wandering around Powells (a short walk from the home?) will put you in a literary and reflective state which always makes what ever bitter pill I am swallowing seem a bit more cultured. ;)
