I'll admit, I expected to hate Donna. I didn't like her in her Christmas special, and I didn't like hearing she was going to be the new companion, but it's Doctor Who, so what, was I not going to give it a chance? Hardly. And y'know, I liked her. She doesn't fit in the pretty young mold, and it's a welcome change, I do believe. I liked the episode, and loved parts of it. That silent conversation through the windows? Loved. Adipose? socute, I want my own. Endless talk of Martha and Rose? Busy life, move on. I was baffled that Jack didn't get spared a thought when he talked about Rose and Martha, but somewhat mollified by the "it's volcano day" reference in the teaser for next week.
All in all? The Doctor is back
Also? Battlestar premiere was so much win and Torchwood finale was so much heartbreak and these three shows definitely kept me distracted from us getting our asses kicked by Kansas.
