It has been an eventful week, running the gamut of life and death (if I had to speak of it in grand, arcing, clichéd terms). A good friend of mine died suddenly in his apartment last weekend and Warren formally proposed to me on Friday. Both were hard to take but the latter was considerably brighter in its outlook

i know. with kaarlo and old dirty bastard dying and getting engaged, it has been an eventful week. i hope i remember when i'm old and extra crotchety.

warren told me later that he was going to wait until christmas but couldn't. i couldn't wait until christmas to give him one half of his gift so i gave it to him last week.

that whole bit about you not laughing per se at warren if he had have bent down on one knee made me laugh way too hard.

And congratulations about your engagement! I never know what to say about the rings. Every one looks the same to me, and I always feel like people are saying, "Look how big my diamond is."

thanks! it's nice to know someone wants to marry me. i know you mentioned post-election about the benefits to being married. have you thought about doing it since it's been five years(!)?

i usually resort to using the adjective "nice" at some point to describe engagement rings, especially when i don't think it's nice but don't want to be an asshole about it.

it would be pretty funny if you started asking questions about the diamond like if it was a G coloured diamond or if it is VVS clarity rather than VS clarity.
