that is so cool, jimmy the teacher. i am glad that you like auburn, and i hope that everything goes well and i am glad that band was able to be put in your schedule,bc i know how badly you wanted it to. its awesom uve already made friends already, but i have to say it is still so weird that you are not in bham anymore, im missing you already!!!
Prof Johnson I miss you! You have to come up to B'ham and see us though. I will def be down in Auburn for a weekend and will def come and see you. Good luck with the classes and band. Love ya!!!
I'm gonna hafta disagree with you on that one AV. Firstly, it's really not fair to compare UAB's band to Auburn's, or any other more established marching band in the state. The band and students here are a lot more experienced. There's a larger proportion of upperclassmen, so most of the teaching of fundamentals and other particulars are through them. Second, Ms. S. has only been at UAB for 4 years. Before that, the band program was pretty unstable, with respect to directors. The band has almost doubled in size since your first year, and it's only gonna continue to get better. Though we've had our differences, I still respect Ms. S. as a great person and an illustrious instructor...Auburn's just been around for longer.

Proof positive that MsS is not a good band director. UAB does a single show the ENTIRE YEAR--schools like Auburn and UGA do 3 or 4 shows.

Read: Her old high school band could probably outmarch UAB's band, and I just don't understand why, considering it's the same director.
