Meh...this stuff isn't my best...but I'm out of practice.
For You
All these nights that I lie here
Alone in my bed, these thoughts in my head
And I start to question
Why am I here?
What am I doing?
Everything that I love
So far away
Three thousand miles
And a lifetime apart
But it doesn’t seem to matter
To you.
My headphones, I’m wearing
My memories are glaring
Like embers burning in the back of my mind
And I remember all the times
And how you looked at me,
Told me everything would be okay
But that was so far in the past
I always knew it would never last
But that never seemed to matter
To you.
Desert Fire
Burning in the desert for you
Eyes drying before the tears could even fall
I never knew you could do this to me
The skyline of a city 3,000 miles away
Holding on to the key to my heart,
I never saw the stars as bright as I did with you.
Sleep doesn’t come easy anymore
Your heartbeat was my sweet lullabye
I never needed you more than I do now.
