haha thanks:) I don't think my sketching teacher would agree though lolol.
I really thought it was going to need the color, but the black and white is growing on me the more I look at it. I'm glad I didn't just go ahead and paint it.
thanks- I have two more sitting at my house:) The dancing doubtful guest was a spur of the moment idea that happened at 3 in the morning the night before the critique- it really surprised my teaher lol.
I like the first drawing. Yes, it's out of proportions, but it look like it's intentional, kinda part of the style - an architecture of a fairy tale-ish castle:)
I like both the city-and-tree picture variations. It's a great graphic work. Only for some reason before I read the description I thought that the subject was less scary 8)) I saw it like this: a tiny city built in the forest, like a super-modern anthill... :) So yeah, guess for the "attacking tree" black-and-white variant is better - more dramatic, and for what I saw there the colored version would make sense, bringing the city out...
lol I'm glad it looks intentional- I'll have to keep practicing!
thank you:) I meant for it to look more scary, but it turned out really subtle- if you just glance it doesn't seem ominous, but the more you look the more details you will see:) I like that idea of a super modern anthill- maybe I'll try that;)
