This apparently has gotten a lot of buzz since it went up on YouTube, but I hadn't seen it until recently. So if you haven't, you really need to see James Mason doing an ad for Thunderbird wine:

Yeah, it makes me wonder if they attempted to market it as a classy aperitif first before settling into the rotgut market, or if this was just an ill-fated attempt to move up.

If they are going to market Thunderbird as classy, they should at least have the decency to get the shots to match. When the camera cuts to a close-up of the bottle of this fine aperitif being poured into a glass, the glass is on the table and Mason's left arm is resting on the arm of the chair and pointing in the direction of his lap. When it cuts back to a full shot of Mason in mid-pour, he is holding the glass off the table with his left hand. I guess the quality of the commercial is matching the quality of the product...
