[At first when she answers the phone, she doesn't hear Ruri's voice. Instead, she hears ... a cow mooing. She stares at the phone in confusion - how can a cow use the phone??? - when finally her voice registers as human for the last part]

Wait, Ruri-chan!! [ksssssssshhhh. Rin starts yelling into the phone as if that will make her talk over the static.]

HEY! RURI-CHAN! CAN YOU HEAR ME!? ♪

[Ruri holds the phone back for a second then looks at it]

Yes, its me. Are you all right Rin?

It felt so real. Lucas wanders the streets, carefully keeping to himself, ignoring everything he hears, averting his eyes from any human figure he sees. He just had to remember... He couldn't allow himself to succumb to this again...

He's so absorbed in trying to keep to himself that it's no wonder he smacks straight into Rin.
And it's like a small portion of his mind defogs. The light turns on, and he sees, at last, someone who is supposed to be in this awful place.]

Rin...! Rin, that's really you, isn't it?

... [she looks over her shoulder]

Len?! ♪

[at first, she's sure that she's seeing yet another Len, but then she notices the yellow and red stripes. Thanks to the mushrooms, all colors stand out a lot, and ... well, these colors are surely not Len.]

No... Lucas?

[it's gotta be, right? And then, he starts looking a bit less Len-like. She turns to face him completely, a little flustered. What is going on?]

Yeah. Yeah, it's me! I'm Rin. ♪

...You're not going to start telling me how worthless I am, are you?

[Lucas smiles a bit, wearily, as he glances around his environment.]

Are you seeing strange things, too? You didn't just look in that mailbox, did you?

Huh? What's going on? ♪

[her eyes darken. After all, less than an hour ago, she was looking at pictures of herself and Len murdering her housemates. It was incredibly real. And now someone else is asking her strange questions about strangeness. Her tone is a bit pouty.]

I looked inside, but... well, the mail was for me, so I was going to see it eventually. ♪

Highway

[Prior to succumbing to his own delusions, Slugger has been sensing the rising distress of others in Mayfield. The call of duty cannot be ignored and it leads him to the highway where he spots a familiar, yellow-haired figure walking alone. Bat at his side, Slugger follows.

As Rin ventures farther along the highway, the distant echo of inline skates on asphalt begins to catch up with her. She may not notice it at first, but soon the sound will grow louder and louder until it pounds in her ears.]

[The sound of skates is slowly but surely interrupting the already cruel sound of the other Rin's song. Can't she settle for being chased by one thing instead of two? She mutters.]

This is boring, this is annoying... ♪

[she ignores it for a little, but when it starts to pound, she whirls around and screams]

STOP FOLLOWING ME! ♪

[Slugger grins and moves directly through the other Rin on his way to the real one. He's never hit a robot before so he'll be sure to strike with extra force. Without stopping or slowing, Slugger swings his bat with both hands at Rin's head. The last thing she'll see is an arc of metallic gold rushing toward her face.]

[going for the head was a good idea in theory - but unlike humans who keep their brain there, it's not as much of a vital spot, more like the equivalent to taking out the computer's monitor. But she nevertheless has a rather durable metal skull for the sake of keeping the head's shape right, so he mostly just succeeded in breaking her eyes - in fact one of them flew out from the force of the impact and bounced upon hitting the ground. She staggers back with a shriek - and her arms suddenly wrap around her chest in a self-hug. A built-in defense reaction.... good sign that this contains the parts that she truly needs to protect.]

Uptown

[Have a tap on the shoulder, and a concerned-looking Luke.]

[she whirls on him before looking at who it is...]

I said go away! ♪

Er, I missed that ooc note about uptown, but anything goes!

[Luke takes a few steps back, but he doesn't leave.

Instead, he's just watching her standing a few inches away from a nearby spike trap.]

[...Well, unfortunately, Luke has been one of Rin's many shota-tastic Len surrogates, so looking at him hasn't made him stop looking like Len. Just... Len wearing blue.]

[Luckily Sealand's only had prepackaged junk food today. And England said his eating habits were bad for him. But once he sees Rin talking to nothing, he approaches.]

[He's a bit wary--this is Mayfield, after all--but he's more worried.]
