If you live in or near New York City, and you have even a slight appreciation for Indian food, drop whatever it is you're doing this instant and go to Angon on Sixth. I'd been wanting to go there for quite some time, and then they conveniently moved to Curry Row. Though it may not be the same place -- I hear there's lots of Indian food out in them thar parts. Which makes me want to explore Queens more.

It's not too pricey -- maybe a few bucks more than your average Indian place. But this ain't your average Indian place. Appetizers (the samosas are excellent) are $5-$7, dinner is $8-$12, and nan (flat bread, you need this) is $3.

have you ever eaten at haveli? it's not on 6th st but is actually on 2nd ave. it's a little more pricey but worth it. then there's the ultimate Bombay Palace in midtown directly across the street from the 21 Club. it's more of a place you go to with adults but still unbelievable.

I have not been to Haveli -- I must check it out. I think I heard
about that midtown place, but if it's the same place I heard about,
it's really expensive, so I've avoided it. Still, I'd be curious to
see how they both compare to Angon.
